Photographing the journey of Victoria and Josh has been an incredible honor. From their pregnancy announcement in a sunlit field in Austin to the anticipation of their studio maternity session, and then to this newborn session at their home, each moment has been a testament to their growing love and excitement. This is almost TWO years ago now (I am clearly not good at posting oops) but I had the privilege of joining them in their cozy home to document the first few days with their beautiful daughter, Isabella :’)))

I love, love, LOVE in-home sessions!!!! Of course I spend every single photography session connecting with my clients, but in-home sessions allow that intimacy on a different level. Being in someone’s home just makes them more real. Sitting on their couch they watch TV on, seeing their decor they knew would be perfect for their space, listening to the music they wake up to everyday. It isn’t just taking their photos – it is acting as if I am living their lives for that moment. I wonder, ‘What would I want if these were my own photos?’ and use that throughout the session. I know I don’t need to tell you this because you are probably reading this after finding my Pinterest looking for newborn session photo ideas, but having visual memories of these stages of your life is something you will always be thankful for.

That being said, from Victoria’s professional realtor portraits to these intimate family moments, I’m reminded of the trust they’ve placed in me to chronicle their most significant milestones. It’s clients like Victoria and Josh who make my work profoundly rewarding. Being invited into their lives time and again is a privilege I cherish deeply and do not take for granted.
